The Moonstruck Story
A life measured in auctions and afternoons.
It began at fifteen, beside her mother on the auction floor — bidding on unknown lots, once on four hessian bags that turned out to be Ivory Coast coffee, once on a whole library that took eleven bakkie-loads to carry home.
From a barrow at the Durban Workshop she opened Pelvina's Grunge — a converted garage painted burgundy and midnight blue, with stars across the ceiling. Then Bebop Deluxe, a deep schooling in 1950s pieces, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, the Arts & Crafts movement, and vintage Louis Vuitton.
Through that very collector came a husband, a son, and a move to Johannesburg, where the whole education became Moonstruck Experience.
